This Privacy Policy describes how RoomAid LLC ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the hellopost app (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect the following types of information when you use hellopost:
Account Information: You sign in with Apple or with Google. hellopost receives a unique account identifier from that provider and stores it so we can recognize you next time. hellopost does not ask you for a password. Inside the App you choose a display name.
Device Information: A device identifier and device name, so you can see where you are signed in and sign a device out. If you turn on notifications, we also store a push notification token for that device. Notifications can include status updates and are delivered through Apple's push notification service.
Usage Data: The App records a few events tied to your account: when the App is opened, when you sign in and with which method, when you post a status and from which screen, and how many days you have used the App. We use these to understand how the App is used. Our servers also keep standard web server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting.
Status Information: The content you share within the App, such as status updates, availability states, and activities, to inform the other members of your space about what you're doing and whether you're available.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information for the following purposes:
To provide and maintain the functionality of the App.
To facilitate awareness and communication between you and the people in your space.
To improve and personalize your experience within the App.
To send you notifications and updates related to your use of the App.
To analyze usage trends and improve our services.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes. However, we may share your information in the following circumstances:
With Members of Your Space: Your status updates and related information may be visible to the other members of your shared space within the App.
Service Providers: Amazon Web Services hosts our servers and database in the United States. Apple provides Sign in with Apple and delivers our push notifications. Google provides the Sign-In library used for Sign in with Google. Twilio SendGrid is connected to our servers to deliver account email; with Sign in with Apple or Google, hellopost sends you no email. We do not use any third-party analytics or advertising service.
Legal Compliance: We may disclose your information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users or others.
4. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.
5. Your Choices
Access and Correction: You may access and update your personal information through the App's settings.
Communication Preferences: You may opt out of receiving certain notifications by adjusting your settings within the App.
Account Deletion: You can delete your account from inside the App, in Settings. No email or support request is required. If you would rather have us do it, you can also write to us at info@hellopost.app. When an account is deleted, we remove your information from our active systems, but we may retain certain data for legal or operational purposes.
6. Children's Privacy
hellopost is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with the updated effective date. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
